Steps to the Perfect Autumn Night In

by Grace Gordon September 19, 2018

As the nights draw in, we’re celebrating Autumn and embracing all that is cosy. With staying in officially the new going out, it’s the perfect time of year to create a space to unwind and indulge in the little things.

September's the month we can finally have a moment of calm, to recoup from Summer excess and take a little time to ourselves.

Our shop’s built around the idea that it’s the small things that count. So here are a selection of our favourite rituals for the perfect Autumn Night In; take a look, sit back, relax and enjoy.

1 - Snuggle up on the sofa with Blankets & Throws

It’s the season of change, so give your living room an Autumnal update, making it the perfect spot to catch up on your favourite drama. (Bodyguard anyone?) Grab your pyjamas and curl up on the sofa with one of our luxury Hammam throws. They’re hand loomed with the softest of cottons and with a choice of the delicate grey Flint Towel or our more moody Graphite, you’ll look just as lovely as you feel.

2 - Wrap yourself in heavenly Scents

It’s the very first sense that kicks in when you’re born and can instantly transport you to another time and place. Smell is captivating and deeply connected to our emotional state so unsurprisingly has far greater influence on us than we realise. Known to have positive effects on mood, stress reduction, sleep enhancement, physical and cognitive performance it’s no wonder we love a candle or two.

Our Candles and Room Diffusers add a gorgeous ambiance to any home. Our Oakwood and Tobacco soy candle contains no nasty chemicals and fills your room with a heady mix of deep earthy smells when lit. For a really Autumnal hit try the Orange Spice Diffuser or Fig & Cassis Candle, they’re packed full of beautifully fruity notes and last for hours.

3 - Find time to unwind

A night in to yourself is the perfect excuse to have a pampering session. It’s important that during the colder months we pay a little extra attention to looking after our skin, central heating and a lack of Vitamin-D can really take their toll.

Unwind in a long, hot bath with your favourite muscle soak, and use the time for a mask so your skin has a moment to take in all those good essential oils. We’re obsessed with facial cloths here in the office and we’ve all found our little Linen Washcloth works wonders on our skin. It’ll provide a gentle way to exfoliate and lift away dead skin cells and impurities while stimulating skin. Incorporate it into your daily cleansing ritual too and you’ll soon see the difference.
