American Beauty - My Top 5 Instagram Picks

by Grace Gordon November 25, 2016

We may not celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK but in homage to our American friends I wanted to show you some of my favourite creatives born and bred in the USA.

Here's a list of doers and makers who inspire me every single day with their wonderful work. Take a look, browse their feeds and let me know what you think!

1. Ariele Alasko @arielealasko

Woodwork has found a global following in recent years, in part due to the popularity of photo sharing apps like Instagram. Ariele Alasko was one of the first makers to really take her work to the general public via stunningly curated pictures and an eye for detail.

2. Grace Bonney @designsponge

My favourite thing about this feed is that it brings together photographs from profiles all over the world. Every day you're introduced to someone new; a craft, designer, photographer and lots of other beautiful things to get the creative juices flowing.

3. @1924us

1924 is an online site, 'a collection of rare, strange, unique, uncommon and the most down right interesting pieces available'. Their raw and earthy photographs are combined with poetic musings and beautiful drawings to great effect.

4. Johnny & Joanna @letterfolkco

Letter Folk is an online retailer of letter boards and their account combines pictures from customers all over the world. As versatile as they are classic, each letter board exhibits a certain stark, utilitarian beauty and provides the perfect canvas for thought provoking words.

5. Teresa Carter @debrosse_nyc

A stunning knitwear brand with a social conscience. DeBrosse began with the idea of combining a love of craft with a plan to help the orphaned children of Haiti. The feed is a beautiful lesson in branding and provides a thoughtful insight into how small brands can really make a difference.

Enjoy and happy Thanksgiving!
Love Grace x
